Even though God put a stop to King David’s plan to build a temple in Jerusalem, David rejoiced in the promise that God would always place his descendants on the throne. This promise was fulfilled with finality in Jesus Christ. God gave David many victories to establish domination over his land and to show that he rewarded those who came to him with unreserved trust. David left a legacy. He was excited about his endowment calling. David empowered the next generation to continue fulfilling the call of God. This is the calling for God’s people in every generation.
